The Professional Practice Committee’s primary goal is to identify, evaluate and explore professional issues that may impact the profession of emergency nursing, as well as to keep the membership informed of these issues. In addition, the committee serves to encourage and support research relative to emergency nursing practice issues. According to the Michigan Emergency Nurses Association (MENA) Bylaws, the Professional Practice Committee shall meet it’s goals by holding at least 4 meetings annually, develop a budget and establish annual goals and objectives to be approved by the Executive Board.
The role of the Professional Practice Committee was recently redefined by a revision of MENA’s Bylaws and this committee is currently in the process of clarifying and defining how it will meet the goals set forth by the Executive Board as outlined in the Bylaws. Stay tuned for future Professional Practice Committee updates and articles from its members regarding issues that affect the professional practice of emergency nurses. If anyone has any specific nursing practice issues they would like to see addressed by this Committee or would interested in participating in this Committee, please contact Sandra Croasdell at scroasdell@sbcglobal.net .
