Membership Update

On May 17 the Membership Committee met to discuss future recruitment initiatives for MENA and to encourage two members from each Chapter to serve on the Membership Committee and act as liaisons between the local Chapters and the State Council.
Membership Committee representatives have attended the Little Traverse Chapter meeting in May and the Downriver Chapter meeting in June. Representatives of local Chapters who become involved with the Membership Committee will be asked to attend the State Council meetings and report the efforts that each Chapter has been putting forth for recruitment and the results of same.
The goals of the Membership Committee have been defined as not only increasing membership, but also to welcome new members and support all current members. The Membership Committee also oversees the sale and distribution of MENA merchandise and will be putting together a pamphlet in the near future displaying the merchandise and pricing of items available for purchase.
Currently the Membership Committee is in the process of formalizing a point system in which points may be redeemed for MENA merchandise as a reward for their recruitment efforts, in addition to rewards available through National ENA. The Committee is also exploring the possibility of setting up recruitment events at hospitals and universities to recruit nurses and students who may be interested in joining the ENA.
